Dr. Benishek Applauds Decision to Remove Wolves From Endangered Species List

WASHINGTON, DC:  Congressman Dan Benishek (MI-01) today released the following statement:

“I was pleased to learn today that the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service has decided to remove wolves from the Endangered Species List in the Great Lakes Region.  Over the past year, I have heard from many constituents concerned about the rising wolf population in Northern Michigan and the threat they pose to pets and livestock.  I believe the recovery of wolves in our region is a true ecological success story and I am hopeful that the State of Michigan will choose the best course of action on how to properly manage these predators in the future.”
